Throwing caution to the wind and dousing his AMD processor and G.Skill Extreme RipjawsZ memory kit in liquid nitrogen, Christian Ney, the well-regarded Swiss overclocker, set a new memory frequency record as recognized by HWBot's Professional Overclockers League. The record for DDR3 memory now stands at 3,736MHz, the highest frequency every achieved, besting the previous record of 3,600MHz.
"It was a lot of fun while tweaking G.Skill memory. You can feel the unlimited potential and always want to go higher and higher," Ney said.
At 1,868MHz (3,736MHz effective), the LN2-cooled Extreme RipjawsZ ran latency timings of 11 (CAS)-13(RAS to CAS)-13(RAS Precharge)-36(tRAS). Both the memory and AMD A8 3870K processor were cooled to -197C. Other components that either aided the overclock or went along for the ride include a Gigabyte GA-A75-UD4H motherboard, 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 solid state drive, X-Series 750W power supply, and a Voodoo3 2000 PCI videocard, a once popular GPU built by 3dfx during the company's heyday.

My first Video card was a Diamond SpeedStar 64 1MB on a ISA bus lol.
That thing was a BEAST.....for playing Duke Nukem 3D.
I remember the Voodoo line though, Canopus' Pure3D was the best of the Voodoo 1 boards.
Wow. Weirdest hardware combo ever.

Wow, Voodoo...blast form the past. My second video card (after the TNT2) was the Voodoo 5500, in my equally badass Athlon 1Ghz Thunderbird proc :))
I've been a Corsair fan for years, but in my April build I'm jumping on G.skill (Sniper 2133 16gb kit) for the first time. I just can't overlook the price for performance ratio.

I'd like to see the data transfer rates at that clock speed. Clock cycles is one thing, actual data transfer is another. Even at stock clocks and ~20GB/s I can't imagine much being bottlenecked to justify these clock speeds other than 'I did it because it was there"
I guess you don't need to run much when you are oc'ing like that, just your BIOS (and intergrated GFX isn't really an option).
Yeah, but, like, how many BF3 knife kills does this dude have?
