8GB iPad 2 Rumored to be Launched with the iPad 3 Next Week

According to latest reports from the Taiwanese industry publication, Digitimes Apple will be launching an 8GB iPad 2 model on the iPad 3 release date next week. The reason cited behind this step is that the Apple might be aiming to keep low costs so as to keep the device within means of all the consumers and at the same time keeping up the competition with the upcoming Windows 8 based tablets. Digitimes  reports, “As Apple has scheduled an event on March 7, sources from its upstream supply chain pointed out that the company is expected to launch two iPad 3 models – a 16GB version and 32GB version.

In addition to iPad 3, Apple is also expected to unveil an 8GB iPad 2, allowing the tablet PC series to cover different segments and to defend against Windows 8-based tablet PCs, the sources noted.”

The report further claimed that Apple isn’t after all going to bring out the 64 GB version of iPad 3 as expected earlier. Instead it is planning to introduce 16 GB and 32 GB models of the third generation iPad. However,  iPad 3 features would definitely include the much talked about 2048 x 1536 Retina Display and the capacity of a higher resolution video and app content with much larger file sizes.

Besides that, there are reports of a much improved camera, a faster processor and a probable 4G LTE data speed to be included. Apple has recently been focusing on the iCloud and iCloud storage regarding the use of an iPad or iPhone.

Furthermore, Apple’s iPad 3 orders are in hot pursuit with the first quarter shipments going to be double of the original estimates as reported. And regarding prices Apple’s move to an 8GB iPad 2 model gives rise to the speculation that the Cupertino might be aiming on enabling lower pricing. And as the company has earlier released lower capacity versions of iPhone so it’s believable that it would take this step again.
