Samsung has launched a new powerful smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Nexus which is based Google’s latest Ice cream sandwich OS.
The plastic border around the display looks smaller on this device than on the Nexus S. And of course, no capacitive buttons below the display, replaced by on-screen buttons in Ice Cream Sandwich.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is powered by a powerful 1.2GHz ARM A9 based Dual Core Processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB Internal memory, 5 Megapixel Rear Camera with FUll HD Video Recording, 1.3 Megapixel Camera at Front and Multiformat Video/Audio player.
The smartphone has a 4.65-inch screen and some screenshot with the leak do seem to confirm that Android 4.0 is Ice Cream Sandwich. We still aren’t sure what all the specs are, there have been differing rumors there. Initially the rumors pegged the device to have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 5MP camera. A more recent rumor claims the smartphone will pack in the Samsung 1.5GHz processor and a better 8MP camera.
On the connectivity side of the equation, the Galaxy Nexus will support both Long Term Evolution 4G for Verizon Wireless, and HSPA+ for global carriers (including, probably, AT&T). Some reports suggest that the Galaxy Nexus will be a Verizon exclusive. It might be, for a month or two. There's no way Samsung will want to limit the availability of such a high-end device for long. The Galaxy Nexus will also pack 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS, and near-field communications.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, micro USB connector and it is powered by a 1750 mAh battery.
