iPhone 4S pre orders pushed back to two week delivery

The shipping of Apple's iPhone 4S has been pushed back by two weeks after selling out in a couple of hours

SIM free iPhone 4S pre-orders have sold out, adding a two week delay to those who are late off the mark in ordering one.

If you head to the Apple site and go through to the purchase link, you'll find the availability of all varieties listed as 'Dispatched: 1-2 weeks'.

The iPhone 4S was due to be shipped on October 14, and when we ordered ours (white, 16GB) at 9AM this morning, the availability was showing as shipping on 14 October.

If you're desperate to get your hands on an iPhone 4S for the launch, you could always go down the route of signing up to a 12, 18 or 24 month contract via Vodafone, T-Mobile or Orange.

Willing to wait? You'll only be able to buy a maximum of two to prevent people buying u the whole stock and selling on eBay.
