Specs suggested the Nexus Prime would have a 1.2GHz processor but that may not be the case if a source is correct
You might be glad to know the specs leaked for the next Google phone, the Samsung Nexus Prime, may be underrated.
According to a source 'in-the-know' who spoke to PocketNow, the Nexus Prime will have a 1.5GHz processor and not the 1.2Ghz previously speculated, as well as an improved graphics processing unit (GPU).
Battery life will also be greater - 2,050mAh instead of 1,750mAh - and the camera will take a hike up to 8-megapixels from 5-megapixels.
The source also said the handset will be known as the Galaxy Prime, which would make sense considering the association with Samsung and its current product line.
Like with the specs leaked to BGR, there's no way to tell how valid the claims are until the Samsung Unpacked event on October 11, where Samsung is allegedly going to unveil the device and possible Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of the Android operating system.
We're hoping the Galaxy Prime will favour the more impressive spec leak, as it's meant to be the flagship device for Android. It would be a shame if it was similarly powered to current smartphones on the market, whether it features Ice Cream Sandwich or not.
