Google Earth finds easily ancient Rome

We got a chance to explore an ancient city in the golden age of the lowest in Google Earth! The 3D simulation of ancient Rome is available as a new layer to Google Earth. The project, which was unveiled on Wednesday, the first ancient city that Google Earth was developed in collaboration with researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Virginia. In ancient Rome 3D layers can fly to Rome, because it appeared in AD 320, the inside tour of the famous buildings, visit the sites in 3D, like the Roman Forum, Colosseum and the Forum of Julius Caesar and learn how the Romans lived.

"What fascinates me most is the accuracy of the project three-dimensional models," by Gianni Alemanno, the mayor of Rome in a blog posting on the Google website. "This is a great pleasure to be able to admire the monuments, streets and buildings of ancient Rome, a virtual camera, which you can enter and see the architectural details."
While the public interest in ancient Rome has exploded due mainly to the movies, like Gladiator, and TV shows like Rome HBO's, Google's support for the new layer as an educational tool, and invited teachers to submit a plan for a new school that include the new service.
